An Old Fashioned
New Holland Christmas
There’s nothing quite like the music of Christmas to bring joy to the Holiday Season.
We’ve designed this wonderful collection of favorites for you and your family and for
friends on your gift list. Leroy Anderson’s classic SLEIGH RIDE opens our program
followed by several new arrangements, O’ LITTLE TOWN OF BETHLEHEM ,
JINGLE BELLS, IT’S A MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR and UP ON A
HOUSETOP. Irving Berlin’s colorful WHITE CHRISTMAS is as beautiful today as
it was the day it written back in 1942. CELTIC CAROL offers an unusual setting of
WHAT CHILD IS THIS and a Sammy Nestico’s arranging skills are put to no better
use than in his FIRESIDE CHRISTMAS which includes Rudolph, I’ll Be Home For
Christmas, Frosty the Snow Man, and Winter Wonderland. Even at Christmas, no
program of the New Holland’s is complete without a march. We’ve selected a creative
and brand new arrangement titled, STARS AND STRIPES FOR CHRISTMAS.

Because there's nothing quite like the music of Christmas to bring joy to the holiday season, the New Holland Band has designed this wonderful collection of Christmas favorites for you and your family with the hope that you will gain many pleasurable hours of listening for years to come.
The New Holland Band has a proud heritage from its beginnings as a militia band in 1829 on through the Civil War as a part of the 203rd Regimental Band (1865), and into the 20th Century with titles like: the Citizen's Band (1915), the Boy's Band (1925), the Victory Band of WWII, and finally the New Holland Band (1958). The band has been referred to by prominent citizens as a "Lancaster County treasure."
On the very day this CD was submitted for pressing, the Lancaster Intelligencer Journal carried a piece entitled, "The New Holland Band's Fun." It had this to say about the value of this band to citizenry.
"So what can we do in Lancaster County that is a family event, provides fine music, is spiritually uplifting, has historical and educational value and, above all, is just plain old-fashioned fun? The New Holland Band provides all that. Family fun just doesn't get any better! Thank you, New Holland Band. You are a treasure!"
The New Holland Band is available for concerts throughout the year. In addition to its usual concert fare which includes great overtures, marches, patriotic, sacred and Broadway medleys, and featured soloists, the band presents special edition concerts: A Night at the Movies, The Music of John Philip Sousa, An Evening with Buster Keaton, An American Salute, Christmas 1944, Music of the National Parks, The Blue and the Gray, Music of the Big Top, and Great Hymns of Faith.
